Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) is a scheduled, proactive approach to asset and facilities management in which equipment, systems, or infrastructure are inspected, serviced, and repaired at regular intervals, rather than waiting for a breakdown to occur.
Â
Typical activities include lubrication, calibration, filter replacement, cleaning, testing, and component wear checks, all carried out according to a predetermined schedule based on manufacturer recommendations, usage patterns, or regulatory requirements.
Â
The core aim is to catch small issues before they escalate into costly failures, extending the operational lifespan of assets, reducing unplanned downtime, and improving safety and reliability.
Â
By contrast with reactive or "run-to-failure" maintenance, PPM shifts spending and effort toward predictable, budgeted intervals, which tends to lower long-term repair costs and improve overall efficiency, even though it requires more upfront planning, documentation, and resource allocation.

Our PPM Process
How We Work
01
Initial Consultation & Proposal
We begin by understanding your site, assets, and current maintenance requirements through an initial discussion or enquiry. From this, we prepare a tailored proposal outlining the scope of works, indicative pricing, and how our PPM service would be structured to meet your needs.
02
Site Survey & Quotation
A qualified surveyor or engineer visits site to carry out a detailed asset audit and assess compliance requirements, access, and any existing issues. This informs a formal, itemised quotation covering all planned maintenance tasks, statutory inspections, and associated costs.
03
Contract Agreement & Scheduling
Once the quotation is accepted, we finalise contract terms, service levels, and reporting arrangements, then build a detailed PPM schedule aligned to manufacturer and regulatory requirements. This becomes the master programme against which all future works are planned and tracked.
04
Mobilisation
Our team is briefed, resources and subcontractors are allocated, and any necessary access, permits, or documentation are arranged ahead of the first visit. From here, PPM delivery begins, with ongoing reporting and compliance records maintained throughout the contract.
